Chiuhauha eating a bone

My 4 pound chuihuaha ate a quarter size lamb bone just swallowed it now she is panting not eating and looks sick uncomfortable should I worry

I would be afraid of a blockage…a trip to the Vet is in order…

we had a chihuahua die from eating a bone yes if your pet is still alive go now don’t stop just pass gooo good luck diane

I would definitely call your vet immediately. Bones often leads to a serious impaction and constipation, requiring a trip to the veterinarian. Bones can also be a choking hazard and can cause possible intestinal bleeding if the bone shards break off and tear the intestinal lining.

What to Watch For:

  • Struggling to breathe
  • Straining to go to the bathroom
  • Bloody diarrhea
  • Pawing at the mouth
  • Lack of appetite
  • Vomiting
