This is a Chi?? Being a “watchdog” means he barks…but I doubt he’s a “guard dog”, which would be a deadly profession for such small dog.

1. throw the ball many times and “untune” him…he will get tired.
2. all dogs mark territory…some more, some less…but that is a “dog” quality, normal on all counts.
3. All dogs use their noses to identify people and things…normal on all counts.
4. If he bites, he is out of control…and thinks he runs the show…time for some basic obedience training (sit, down, stay)…and little NILIF (Nothing in life is free)…that means he has to perform in some way before he gets fed, played with, treats, etc…make him sit and stay before he gets any reward.
5. All dogs run way faster than we do…use a 25 foot long line on him (5/8’s nylon rope, with a tiny clasp…(you can pick up in any hardware store, and it’s cheap)…start working on him with his “come” command…Let him him run, call him…when he doensn’t stop, reel him in…make him sit…then give him a treat.
6. Some dogs simply don’t like being picked up (it may be painful)…or, this is part of his dominance/leader thing. You may very well find, that once you have him under YOUR thumb, doing what you…his LEADER…wants him to do…that being picked up isn’t a problem. It will take a while to convince him that he isn’t the “boss”…YOU ARE…

Work with him everyday…and remember NILIF…that in itself will cool his jets…as you will be in control of every fun and pleasurable thing he does.
