How can I cheer my brother up?

He’s been on holiday for 2 weeks to Turkey without any family and he was really homesick. The carnival where I live was on not too long ago, whilst my brother was on holiday and I saw his girlfriend holding another boy’s hand. When my brother got home, his girlfriend left him. He’s been really down and wont eat. He’s been crying alot :\

Answer #1

It might help to know how old he is and what’s causing him to be down.

Answer #2

Think of something he finds funny and impersonate it :D (well depends what age range he’s in really) ^-^

Answer #3

He’s almost 16 and I’ve put the reason now

Answer #4

He’s almost 16 so maybe not? :/

Answer #5

Get him out of the house, movies, go see a band, skateboard park, etc. The more he sits in his room being bored the more time he has to think and be upset. Make him a cd of “love sucks” songs lol. In the end though, he just needs time. We all get our hearts broken as teens and we all get over it.

Answer #6

I’d do things with him that he enjoys. For my brother, there usually was nothing that could cheer him up better than playing some games (sega, PlayStation, etc). Sometimes talking would help. Other times, just being there helped. It’s different for everyone, but it will definitely take time and understanding. Keep trying to be there. I’m sure he’d appreciate it.

Answer #7

Yeah, at the weekend, I think we’re going out to the cinema or somewhere. I’m trying to get him to go out with his friends tomorrow after school to tske his mind of things, thank you :}

Answer #8

I’ll ask him if he wants to go on the xbox with me tomorrow :) I’ll leave my mum to talk to him because I’m not too good at that kinda thing, lol. Thank you :)

Answer #9

Hmm okies. How about making him laugh by showing him a Mitchell and Webb comedy sketch :D My brother’s friends are that age and love it. :> Also. I guess you could ask him about what his best day ever was and let him tell you all about it. Sometimes remembering great times makes you feel like you’re having a great time. Weird I know. But it works for a lot of people I know. :D

Answer #10

poor guy. See hes like me, i dont eat or drink, or hardly talk for that matter, when im really upset… just make him realize that she is not a loyal human, and is most likely a sl*ut. so tell him to go to a few clubs, have a few beers, and enjoy himself. relationships are one of the main causes for depression, so he has to try and look past it

Answer #11

Yeah, I’m going to talk to him about holidays and stuff. He seems much better today, anyway. We’re going to watch videos of when we were small and stuff so that’ll make him smile :)

Answer #12

This helped, thanks :D

Answer #13
