Is there a charge to receive text messages from a computer?

im texting my friend from my email in the computer to his phone, but i wanna know if there is a charge to that?

if he is using e-mail it will use up a tiny proportion of his internet allowance, if he has data in his contract or pay as you go then it shouldnt make much of a difference :)

It really depends on his carrier. My old carrier would charge, my new one doesn’t. You should ask him to check with his carrier.

i use computer texting quite frequently if im running low on credit. i use a couple of sites and those have never charged but check if your really unsure
