Why do cats meow when they have caught live/dead mice or birds?

Answer #1

Maybe that’s there way of saying Yayyy (:

Answer #2

They don’t always.

Answer #3

I think they want you to see/approve of their catch

Answer #4

It’s there way of boasting….see what a great hunter I am!!!

Answer #5

its a sense of them being dominant…and proud of them selves….they think they are bad lol

Answer #6

Any time I had cats,I would get a “gift” of a bird or a mouse..Even though the poor things were either still very much alive or almost gone..My cats would meow to get my attention to come see what was ‘caught’ for me as a token of my being a good “mommie” to them..It varies, like Colleen mentioned, they don’t always do it,but it does happen..
