All I'm doing is petting him. D:
It could be something as simple as the smell of food making it drool, but when it happens suddenly and it persists, it is usually due to with illness or injury. There are several reasons your cat may be drooling. Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums), Dental disease, Tongue injury, Mouth ulcer, Oral or esophageal tumor, Nausea, etc...
You should take your cat to the vet for a thorough examination, normally, they will just examine the oral cavity... unless they don't find the solution...then they would probably go into further examination. In the meantime, look out for vomiting, loss of appetite, or difficulty breathing. Any of these symptoms might mean there are complications that require immediate attention. In this case you should take your cat to the vet ASAP. Hope this helps! :) Good Luck with your cat, I hope it isn't serious.
She might have an infection in her mouth or ate something that she disliked/tasted bad. if it persists....VET
It isn't any of that, he ONLY drools when only I pet him. He doesn't do it all the time.
my cats drool because they are old lol and have no teeth
