What would you do in my case?

Ok i feel so bad. i went to a beauty store and i was holding like 5 nails polish and some kid bummed into me and i accidentally dropped the red bright nail polish and it shaddered oon the floor leaning a nasty red color on the shiny white floor. i got scared and ran out of the store..ahh i feel bad now?

Answer #1

I personally might have done what you did, or I might have told a store clerk about the accident and ask for something to wipe it up with, although I’d be scared they’d make me pay for it anyways xP

Answer #2

I would laugh about it. Live with no regrets jenndue.

Answer #3

Lol I would have told some one that worked there.

Answer #4

I would have done the same. Haha. really you dont need to feel bad about it, the nail polish is probably only really worth a few dollars. And it wasnt your fault.

Answer #5

Ok, let me ask you something, did you intentionally/deliberately say to yourself ok, today I am going to break some nail polishes at the store? I think not right!!!?? Did you tell some kid to run into you intentionally/deliberately to make the nail polish slip from your hand?! I think not…So, why on earth would that make you run out like some thief?!
Remember this…for next time…something I do is I take one of those small plastic thingies to put stuff in. If you want to get a few things just throw them in so you have more free hands. When looking at nail polishes…try one bottle at a time & dont sweat it…accidents do happen to all of us! Does it really matter if the kid pushed you or it slipped from your hands? In my book it doesnt matter….it was an accident. Get over it! :)

Answer #11

If they cared enough about the few dollars it cost to look, they could probably find both the accident (establishing your innocence) and your guilty flight on video from their security cameras.

If the store is in your neighborhood, or is one you’d expect to shop at again, I suggest you go back to the customer service desk, ask for the manager, and apologize for getting so flustered and scared that you fled instead of bringing it to their attention for quick clean-up.

One other thing: Your reflexive response got in the way of your doing the right thing and left you feeling badly about it afterward. It would be worthwhile for you to think about Temptress’s question: “why on earth would that make you run out like some thief?” Understanding why you ran might help you respond differently next time.
