I wouldn't worry about getting rid of co2- it sounds like the professionals know what they are doing. the blood releases carbon dioxide when it enters the lungs, the alveoli allow for the crossover of oxygen into the blood, and carbon dioxide from the blood- the carbon dioxide is then released from the body during exhalation. allow the medical staff to do their jobs.
