Can you help me finish my story?

For English class I have to come up with a suspensful story. I’m not going to type my whole story down, I’ll just give you a little bit of it. —
A girl named Maya decided to stay home on Halloween instead of taking her sister out. So her parents took her. Maya went up to her room, then an hour passed and she heard a knock at the front door. She went to go check, but no one was there. She was heading back up to her room, when she got to the middle of the stairs when she heard another knock. Not from the front door - but the back. She went to go check, and still no one there. So she decided to watch tv when all of a sudden the lights went out. Thats where I’m stuck at. I don’t know what to wrote next. Any ideas?

you should probably talk about how you try to call someone but the lines dead and the only thing you hear is like heavy breathing

At this point the hackles on the back of her neck went up. She was hoping it was just her family playing a prank on her for not going out tricker treating with them. But she could feel that this was not just a prank. She went to the kitchen to the top drawer where the flashlight is alway kept. As soon as she found it and was ready to turn it on she felt a presence behind her. Confussion and fear now took over her. She did not know what to do with the cold, hard flashlight in her hand. Does she turn it on or get ready to turn around and use it as a weapon not knowing what she was about to strike she swung as hard as she could. There was a loud thump. As she turned on what was now her weapon she was shocked at what laid before her.
