Can you die black hair?
I have black hair and trying to dye it. Trouble is. most hairdressers don’t want to touch it because black hair doesn’t seem to take colours very well. In the past, it either didn’t colour or it went ginger!! (By the way, I have medetteranian complextion.I want a nice rich brown colour.
Please anyone, have you got advice on this that is safe and effective? Thankyou.
You have to strip the color out. Baisically you have to bleach it til its a whitish blonde. But this damages and might even make your hair fall out. The last thing you want is damaged hair. TRUST ME. But if you strip the color effectivly then you can die it the color you would like. But most likely with hair like yours is, it probably won’t strip properly and the color would just go orange. My opinion is that you should just get dark brown highlights then start getting lighter on that same area.
You could Bleahc it, but the does serious Damage. But just try Highlights for a while. then start to slowly go Brunette.
I’m with the hairdressers on this one.
You can bleach it, but that’s when you end up with the reddish colour. Perhaps instead of dying it full-out, you can put in highlights…even red ones look nice against black hair.
