Can you explain this math question?

p= a(b+c) and your trying to solve for a. and can you also show how you did this. Thanks

Answer #1

You’re not going to get an answer in the form of a number. You’ll get an answer relating the value of a to the value of the other variables.

Answer #2

We can’t show you how, but it’s not hard. Just preform the same operations to both sides of the equation.

Answer #3

well what I did was p= ab+ac then I didnt know what to do from there I’ve tried some other ways but they dont turn out right so I don’t know what to do next

Answer #4

those little freaks are hard.. had them last week O.O

Answer #5

dont open the equation, it’s simple, just divide both sides by b+c

so p/(b+c) = a(b+c)/(b+c) p/(b+c) = a

Answer #6

I agree with tv

Answer #7

How are wesupposed to answer it without knowing knowing what the variables stand for?

Answer #8

You’re trying to isolate a on one side of the equation, so in this case distributing a doesn’t really help you.

Answer #9

I promise im not trying to cheat I really just dont understand how to get the answer

Answer #10

actually I figured out it was p=a(b+c)

                                          --- ---
                                       a(b+c) a(b+c)

p/b+c =a
