Can shampoo make my hair shinier?

Alright, so my hair is dk brown…and its sometimes not shiney. Dull looking. So I bought recently a dove shampoo especially for dull hair… To make it more shinier. So you think it can really work??? I somehow believe it can, but I need more experienced peopel to help me out on this. Thanks!! :)

Try using a sulfate-free shampoo. All of Dove’s shampoos contain sulfates (sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, ect…it comes in many different forms). It’s an ingredient that provides lather but dries out your hair, therefore removing shine from it. It’s really bad for your hair. Try using Giovanni or Say Yes to Carrots, Cucumbers, and Tomatoes shampoos. If you have Trader Joe’s grocery nearby, purchase one of the TJ Shampoos…they’re all sulfate-free, some are Organic, and they’re always under $4. Baby shampoos also work, as long as they’re free of sulfates, which most of them are. Also, if you hair isn’t oily, use a really moisturizing shampoo…comb it through with your fingers, leave the conditioner in for 3 minutes, and rinse with cold water. And you may want to try a leave-in conditioner afterward, too :)

Good luck!
