Can I report a Doctor for refusing to see me? (short version)

I had a Dr office treat me badly and refuse to see me. I have been going there for 2 years and it has always been fine and people were nice - no issues. Today I go in for a schedled appointment with a really bad respritory issue and I was clearly ill. They refused to see me becasue I didn’t have my insuance card. I have the same insurance I have used there for 2 years! My mom was there and we even offered to pay cash! They still refused trying to change the subject saying they needed my insurance card! What can I do? I think this is wrong and I want to report this!

Answer #1

They should have had a copy of your insurence card on record and if you have been going for two years they should no you. I would report them and get a new Doc. you can pay someone else for better service too

Answer #2

You can’t really report them for this.

I believe, unless you were admitted to the ER and you were just a walk-in patient in no apparent risk of dying, they aren’t required to treat you if you don’t have insurance. This is because of insurance fraud laws, where both the office and the patient can get in trouble.

You really just need to keep that insurance card with you at all times. Other than that I’m not sure there’s much else you can do.

I think you should report this when somebody is ill they need to help them!! you would strongly suggest reporting them!
