I overloaded an outlet last night and tripped a circuit. We cant find a tripped breaker so does the problem lie within the outlet itself? Does the outlet have to be changed?
Some breakers don't move much when tripped; shut down your computer, then turn each one off and then back on. Sometimes outlets can burn themselves just enough where you can't see that they are "open" (no juice flow). Get a multi-tester and see if you have continuity or let an electrician do it. Be safe! Lighting houses for Christmas always put an extra strain on the grid, as does summer with all the air conditioners.
Yup sounds like it is in the wiring of the house, I would call the experts, It took us almost a week to narrow it down and still had to call, they had it fixed in 45 mintues. but always safer to leave it to the experts.
its the wall and the outets connected to it. not the entire house. it looks like ony a string of outlets.
I'd get an electrician to check for possible wiring hazards and get peace of mind.
Does only that outlet not work or is now other things out in the house?
