Does a bruise intentionally itch when it's healing?

I’ve been having this bruise for quite a while and I like to say it’s a large bump and it itches around it. I had this bruise for a while as well, since I always leaned on my arm(it was comfy ;p) and now the bruise tended to get worse as I always leaned..my parents think I bumped something and believe it’s nothing to worry about. So..does a bruise itch if it’s healing?

I’ve never heard of a bruise itching before. I know skin itches when it heals but that’s usually in the case of broken skin.

Yeah I know that for a fact, but for some reason it itches around this bruise I had since last month, well the description explains it why, but it just started to itch around and on some parts. Not sure why.

when a mosquitoe bit me i tend to realy itch and bruise myself but when the bruise is made by something else, it would itch because of the histamine in your body is healing your bruise. histamine is the chemical in your body that activate when there is an injury and allergic reaction or even when a mosquitoe bite you.

If you have a lot of swollen tissue around it yes it will itch when it starts healing, try putting some ice on it.

Oh ok, so I take that as a good thing then c; I thought nothing of it, until it started to itch here and there, and putting ointment on it really kinda helped. Though I wanted to make sure. Thanks!
