Do the British really say "ell gov'nor?"

Answer #1

I have never meet a British person who has said that. I have met American people who say that in a bad attempt at a British accent.

Answer #2

Answer #4

Ello govna....and even Awight Geezer...is used in the south east part of England by the English people ,few people use the thrases but they are used.Mainly said in a light hearted nice way by working class people,Teenagers and older people are more likely to say it ....it is just a different way to say hello.Coc-kney rhymeing slang would be expected from the same people that say "ello Govner”,me old china plate.Anywhere else in the UK saying this sayin and they are prob just having a laugh and joke.

Answer #5

I’m from London and I do. I also say bugger, cor blimey and I use really bad rhyming slang. Its all tongue in cheek though. Innit guv.
