What do you think of the discontinuation of Bratz Dolls?

So I just found out that as early as next month, MGA will no longer be allowed to produce Bratz Dolls due to Copyright Infringement against Barbie manufacturer Mattel and a Breech of Contract with them as well.

Personally, I’m excited. I was never a fan for the dolls and I feel that they made Barbie look like a Virgin Mary. However I’m curious to know if anyone is upset by this, and what everyone’s opinion on this matter is.

Answer #1

well I hate them too mainly for the same reasons you do they way they dress is disgusting and promiscous an I dont think there appropriate dolls for kids at all but while it wont make any difference in my life therere will be a lot of little girls who are going to be upset about it

Answer #2

Im glad, I had a TON of Barbies and the Bratz dolls kinda creep me out. Itsliketheyre deformed! They have those GINOORMOUS heads and those tiny bodies plus(when I had one) the way you take off their shoes is way weird! The pants on mine took FOREVER to put on because they were so tight. But I only had one and the only reason I had one was bc my aunt gave it to me.

Answer #3

no im personally glad. its a bad doll for kids to have b/c its like telling them its ok to dress like a skank lol

Answer #4

Damn, really?? If I was a pre-teen still I’d be royally ticked off. I used to love thoughs friggen’ dolls. But they were dressed pretty damnn skanky.

Answer #5

I think they are pretty skanky and barely dressed

That’s creepy - My boyfriends little girl loves this kids movie/cartoon type deal called ‘The Winks’ and the girls in it are all skanky and it worries me, why are kids movies/toys wearing next to nothing?

Answer #6

I dont think the reason for them being taken off the shelf is right - it’s definatly not a copy of barbie, although I hate the dolls personally as I think they are pretty skanky and barely dressed.

Answer #7

I don’t see how there’s a copyright infringement here. Bratz are obviously not Barbies. They don’t look like them, and they haven’t used the same names. The only thing they have in common is that they are both poseable action figures marketed to girls.

Answer #8

Bratz are creepy and I think barbie are way better. Lol. more classic as well

Answer #9

I dont think its true but I also think it is …well we will just have to see what happens

P.S I got a friend who has this little sis who read this and she started crying lol XD

Answer #10

well I know for sure that my boyfriend’s little sisters are going to be all upset! including my god sisters as well! they all adore bratz!! but I really don’t see why, because I kinda agree with you mandyloo, I think they’re sort of slutty! and it’s a bad image of what little girls should think they should look like/grow up to be like!! - trampy clothes, far too skinny bodies, big lips and eyes, thick make-up…est! I’m happy they’ll be gone! at least barbies look more human!

Answer #11

Are you serious? I think that’s kind of stupid - I mean action figures and characters like that have been around forever. I personally don’t think Bratz look anything like Barbie so I don’t see what the big deal is. Obviously barbies still sell like crazy, I see them all over the place so I don’t see what they’re complaining about. I’m not a fan of the dolls either but I just think it’s kind of dumb.

Why cant kids just have both? I’m pretty sure anyone who has a Bratz doll has like a million Barbies too.

Answer #12

I think my daughter will be pretty upset - she’s fanatical about Bratz :/

Companies have been taking things too far with their silly copyright infringement cases. Mattell is just annoyed that kids are more interested in Bratz than Barbie these days…so what’s their plan? Take away what kids like.

Yeah - that’ll work in their favour.

If they were smart, they’d up the ante - create something that speaks louder to kids than Bratz do.

Answer #13

I think that this is unfair and has a stuped reson forr them to be took off they should be aloud to keep making bratz dolls

Answer #14

yea the 2 girls I babysit will probley freak out and be like your lieing! But what happens happens all I have ever seen them as is FAT barbies.
