Why does my ex boyfriend want to remain in contact?

Me and my ex liked each other for 7 years and recently broke up from a 2 and a half year relationship. He dumped me because of the distance and him not having money meant he couldnt see me on a regular basis. When he dumped me he said he still wants to be friend and remain in contact eventhough we will always be more then friends.

I told him how remaining in contact will be hard for us to move on and he didnt seem happy about me wanting to delete all contact. He usually always starts the convosation and he randomly told me that tomorrow night he is going out clubbing, when I didn’t even ask him of his plans? (Weve broken up just over a week)

To me it sounds like he either misses your company or still has strong feelings for you, when your with someone for that long it can be hard to get used to not having that person around all the time, Since it’s only been a week i’d say he misses your company and is feeling lonely now that your apart.

He still wants to be with you, but he doesn’t really want to commit. Just tell him that you need space to get over him and you don’t want to talk to him anymore.
