Only if they have medical records of the people from 5 decades ago.

You can trace your maternal ancestry through mitacondrial DNA and paternal though the y chromosome, but it wont tell you specifics. It will just tell you the area they most likely came from etc. The only way to know if a specific person is related to you is to compare DNA samples from you and this person. DNA wont reveal unknown family member to you, unless there are samples to compare.
