When you go in to donate blood, which arm do they take it from? And how long does it usually take to get all the blood they need? And what all "tests" do they have to do before they can actually take the blood?
You will be asked several medical questions. They often take it from your left arm, but can take it from either one. (The veins in my left arm are very hard to locate, so I always tell them to take from my right.) It takes 10-15 min. (for whole blood) once they start. The only test is a pin prick for a drop of blood, and a small sample for checking your blood, which is taken at the same time as your pint of blood.
thanks!
