Its a stereotype, but with some reasoning behind it. Where im from a majority of the african americans are not wealthy, and fried chicken is a very cheap fast food option. Places like churches you can get an entire meal for $2, so when your broke its one of the first places people usually go too. It also has alot to do with "soul food" and african american cooking. In the south its customary for african americans to still cook "soul food" meals containing fried chicken, collar greens, potatos, gravy, chitlins, and so on. Highly fattening and greasy food....but delicious.
Its just a stereotype. Because I guess they ate it a lot back in th day and that's how people knew them. But its not always true. Its like you can't say "You're human if you drink water" because then what do we call animals? They drink water and so do plants.
Get it. so you can eat whatever you want. Doesn't matter. People just need to stop being so judgemental.
I know plenty of "black" people and not one of them has ever mentioned fried chicken that Ive heard. I'm pasty white and I LOVE fried chicken.
