Voice lessons. You have to know the differance between head voice and chest, do deep breathing excercises to strengthen your diaphram. Sit straight up with feet on the floor or stand. You should get a metronome too so you can get a feel for how the words to a song are timed so you arent rushing words out and wasting breath. Use good diction and pronounce the words you sing, otherwise it sounds like noise. If you must, get a keyboard or piano and play one note, record yourself so you can hear, but try and harmonize with that key you played. Play the tape back and see how it sounded. Do it with multiple notes until you can hit them without hearing the key.

First thing you can do is watch YouTube videos. There are many musicians that explain how they got their voices ready for singing. You also have to practice breathing exercises before you sing. If you do your research you will find many ways to get your voice ready. It’s a very important task to do before singing to control your voice & breath. Another thing is to sing in the shower. It echoes and its a great way to start getting your voice ready. The water is relaxing and so you’ll find the music flows easily. There are DVDs you can also buy that will help you. And as they say, practice makes perfect. Practice in front of the mirror everyday. Start with your vowels before moving on to baby words than harder words. You’ll eventually get the hang of how to pronounce your words and it’ll get easier. Good luck :)

Another thing for excercises Sing “VA” in the DO-Re-Me-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do Along with “TA” “MA” “NA” It will help you form the V,T, M and N sounds for diction. Say butter 20 times fast to relax your mouth before singing. Belt out the higest and try to sing Soprano, then gradually lower it to Alto, that way you work a range and can figure out if you are Alto, Soprano, MetsoSoprano, maybe even meant for ACapella
