Beagle babe..

My husband and I adopted a one year old beagle from a family that could no longer care for him. He has adapted well, although has severe anxiety disorders. We adore him and he loves us. Now his previous family wants to visit him. Is this a good idea? My feeling is that it may create confusion. Your help is so appreciated as these people are friends and feel a tad miffed that I won’t comply to their wishes. Thank you, Tania

Since they are just visitiing, I don’t see a problem…it sounds like he has bonded to you, so even tho these people may seem “familiar” to him, it won’t put a dent in how he feels now.

You’ll find that these people interest in seeing him will wain…

I don’t see a problem with it- I bought my beagle at a pound, she had been beaten servilely. I took her for a walk one day and this guy came up to be asking if her name is ‘Lacey’ and I said yes, he went on to say that’s his old dog, he had been the one that sold her to the farm that ended up abusing her. He was shocked to find out what turned out, and felt bad. Anyways, Lacey was actually happy to see him, she wagged her tail and let him play with her for a bit.

Things should be fine if you’re willing to let them see the dog. :)
