I am having my 3rd child on Valentines Day 09, and I will have to take care of her for a few months, but I was thinking I could get a job. My husband makes a good buck and we have enough to support all of them and would I be too busy working to pay attention to them. I don't want them to be the kids that say "Mama is not ever home." If I do find a job, I will hire a nanny to live with us. Should I go back to work?
I DONT THINK YOU WOULD BE A BAD MOTHER FOR DOING SO. I AM A PARENT TOO AND I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND HAVE A CAREER. I THINK AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A JOB TO WHERE YOU CAN BE YOUR OWN PERSON AND HAVE A BALANCE TO WHERE YOU STILL HAVE TIME FOR THE FAMILY YOU'LL BE FINE. IM ONE OF THOSE WHO BELIEVES JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE KIDS DOESNT MEAN YOUR LIFE IS OVER. WE AS WOMEN AND MOTHERS STILL HAVE DREAMS, EXPECTATIONS, ETC. YES WE LOVE OUR CHILDREN AND NOTHING COULD EVER EVER TAKE THEIR PLACE, BUT WE JUST HAVE TO FIND THAT BALANCE. JUST MY OPINION, I THINK IF YOU ARE STILL UNSURE ABOUT YOUR DECISION MAYBE YOU CAN START WITH SOMETHING PART TIME SO YOU CAN HAVE A BETTER JUDGEMENT ON HOW TO BUDGET YOUR TIME BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
you wont be bad mother. both my parents work and I had my first baby last year and both me and my fiance work. as long as you and your husband are home a reasonable time and on weekends I dont see a problem with you going back to work.
I grew up w both my parents working... being home on at reasonable times and on the weekends is usually enough to not feel ignored...
