The best way to determine your fertile period is to take your temperature with a basal thermometer.
Generally if your cycle is regular, ie every 28 days, you will ovulate somewhere around 14 days before the beginning of your next period. Most women fall into that category.
The temperature increases when you're fertile, but the change is so minor that a regular thermometer doesn't pick it up - that's why you need a basal thermometer.
if this is about the saying that you can't get pregnant while you have your period... well that's just a myth. I agree with the others...
