Agree with yummeh - they’re a persistent legend, nothing more. Like ghost stories on a dark night - something to scare people with.
The dog/wolf family and humans are completely separate and there is no connection.
The legends may have started because some people are naturally more hairy than others, especially on the hands. And some/many people are sensitive to the moon’s phases, and act differently when the moon is full. (A friend of mine worked in her parent’s pub for years, and could always tell from certain customers when the moon was full - honest!)
No we are not related to Werewolves and furthermore, they do not exist. It is a legend and nothing more. What aspects of the legend are you interested in knowing (eg. how to become a Werewolf, how they behave)?
