Does an appendix do anything at all for our bodies?

If not, then why is it there?

Answer #1

The appendix actually serves some function if you still have it, although it is harmless if removed. It contains a specialized fluid that prodcues antibodies for the rest of the body. However, other organs of the body have a more important role of producing those antibodies, so if the appendix has to be removed, it is harmless and without consequence. Some research also suggests that it may aid digestion.

Answer #2

Hey, I still use mine for all the bark, roots and other stuff I eat. It does have a use.
