My fave book is called Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson. This is what the back of the book says. :

During the summer of 1793, Mattie Cook lives above the family coffee shop with her widowed mother and grandfather. The Lovely Bones is a FANTASTIC book. I second that one! And ‘Speak’ too. Another fantastic book that I like to group with those two is ‘We All Fall Down’. And forgive me, but I’ve forgotten the author.

Hm… If you’re a fan of Tamora Peirce like myself, I suggest reading Holly Black. The book called ‘Valiant’ is my favorite.

Another good one is ‘Poison’ by Christopher Wooding.

Also, I think you’d enjoy ‘Nobody’s Princess’ & ‘Nobody’s Prize’ by Esther Friesner.

Another one of my favorite authors is Scott Westerfeld. The series ‘Uglies’, ‘Pretties’, ‘Specials’, and ‘Extras’ made me absolutely sob. He’s incredible!

And, last, but certainly not least, ‘A Great and Terrible Beauty’, ‘Rebel Angels’, and ‘The Sweet Far Thing’ by Libba Bray is a series you might enjoy.
