Antique Violin Worth Much ?

Hey , Just Though I Would Ask you People , I Have An Antique Violin Made be William walker, In West Lothian , In The Year 1904. It Still Has Original Case But Sadly No Bow. It Has Few Scratches, And It IS So Old, It Does not Have Fine Tuning Pegs At the bottom. All In All It Is In Mint Condition. Does anyone Know If This Is worth Anything?

Hi,

The best place would be to find an appraiser.

If you want an accurate value on any violin you can obtain one from Bein & Fushi in Chicago, www.beinfushi.com or www.stradivarisociety.com As of the recent catalog I received from them, a verbal appraisal is $45 and a written appraisal is $90 for an instrument valued at up to $2,000. If the instrument is valued from $2,100 to $10,000, the cost is $95 verbal and $130 written. I hope this will settle the controversy.
