Like the one question I asked before. I have had my neighbors yelling all morning. Not at eachother, the one next to us has someone in there with her and she is yelling at them. Right now, the police are here,, banging on her door, yelling at her to open it. But she doesn't want to.
So I have a couple of questions actually. With having the cops called on her so many times, and I am talking like 4 in 2 weeks, can she be kicked out of the apartment building? And if for some reason the cops should ever knock on my door to ask me questions about them, do I have to open and talk to them?
I understand. It may depend on the type of housing and lease agreement, maybe local laws for all it know. I guess its between the tenant and landlord, if the landlord even finds out. I personally have never heard of people getting kicked out for police visits. Like I don't think the police are reporting anything to the landlord when they come. Its never good to call negative attention to yourself when you're living in someone else's building.
Do you know at all what its about? If not, can you get a little gossip from a fellow neighbor? It might ease your mind a little. Its natural to know about our neighbors.
About the police knocking: my understanding is that you don't have to answer your door at all for anybody. (If your landlord needs access, hey can/should notify you.) If the police call on you, its probably wise to respond, but yeah, you don't have to share anything if you don't want. That's your right. Unless, as mentioned, they have a warrant or subpoena, but you're probably not that important in whatever this is.
Remember to see their I.D. and get names as good protocol and just in case.

If your neighbour is a constant disturbance to the other tenants then she can be evicted, but that's an issue for your landlord to deal with.
If the cops are asking you for a statement, you are not obligated to cooperate, but if this person is affecting your peace and general state of comfort, then it's well within your best interests to help the police.
Whatever's going on, I think you should consider whether its worth making this person lose their home. Its not easy being evicted. Especially if you've been there for some time. Please give it a little of that kind of thought. Thank you. I hope you're still looking for funanswers.
I am not looking to have them kicked out, that is nowhere my intention. I was just wondering in general could they be kicked out for having the police called on them so often..
