animal eyes

why is it that small animals have all black eyes like mice but big animals have eyes with pupils and irisis and white like horses?

Answer #1

All eyes are pretty much the same. There’s a cornea, a pupil, and iris. The difference is that some animals have more skin around the eye covering it up so you don’t see the whites of their eyes.

All creatures have different colored eyes. Some mice have red eyes, some have dark brown, and some have black. Just like humans. It’s all in the genes.

Answer #2

Maybe it’s because their eyes are bigger and you can see more of the detail? And not all small animals have black eyes. My cat has green eyes and sometimes mice have red. And tons of animals have different colored eyes, but blackish or brown is common.
