anyone can tell you that pills and liquor don’t mix. I am SOO lucky I;m still alive on several occasions like that. I will tell you something else though, the combination might not necessarily kill you but if you get drunk and stupid or pass out…your friends will mostly likely leave you, because 1) they either don’t want to deal with it or 2) they’ll be scared. I know you’re young and it seems like your friends are the most loyal and steady things in your life but believe me…when sh**t hits the fan, like really hits the fan. you’re all alone. God forbit they leave you and you walk the streets by your self, especially if you’re blacked out and someone snatches you or lures you into a car or throws you in the bushes. or you pass out and some sicko picks you up. or even if you don’t see a car coming walking home alone and drunk. I’ve seen so much happen and friends leave people behind because they don’t want to deal with that, and mixing painkillers and alcohol pretty much gives you the most unfavorable outcome of acting like a total a$$ hole. so..yeah..I’d advise you have fun, but in modernation.

depends what kind, stength, how much you took,if its a narcotic pain killer.I use to do stuff like that when I was younger and the thing about it some will make you feel more drunk than you really are so you gotta be careful how much you drink I never had more than 3 beers cause I took the kind that did make you feel more drunk.im not sure why you did it but I stoped cause a friend passed out and choked to death on his tounge cause he drank and took too much(amung snorting other things but thats not the point).so if you didnt drink that much that one time dont worry or be scarred your going to have a bad liver now but never do it again.I’ve never regreted anything more in my life than not paying attention that night.both are addicting alone and even more so together.most people say if they had a chance to go back and live there life over again they wouldnt.well they dont live with guilt.dont do that to urself or your friends and family.

your liver and kidneys have to process everything you put into it. the dangers are not always that it will simply kill you, in fact, you would need to do drink a lot of alcohol and probably take more than the recomended amount.

however, just because it may not kill yo, it doens’t mean it’s ok. dependent on what medication your taking dictates what part of the body processes it. for example,NSAID (non-steroid ant inflammatory drugs) such as ibuprofen, nrofen etc are processed by the kidneys, whereas paracetamols are processed by the liver. when you drink alcohol, it is the kidneys job to process it and the livers job to remove the toxins. by adding alcohol you are doubling the organs work load, and also confusing it. it will do the job, that’s what it does. it’s the damage that is caused in the process.

kidney damage is irreprable and can result in diaylsis or wait for new idney (long waiting list!) and liver, well, not much can be done with that. this is why there is such great concern over younger people abusing alcohol so much.

please don’t do it again. you only get one body, and you really do have to lve with it for the rest of your life…and it’s always a good idea to be more dpecific about A) what medication you were on and B) why…

Thankyou everyone your advice has been amazing, You’ve really made a difference to what I think about life because like most teenagers I thought I was invincible and nothing bad could happen to me but you’ve all given me a reality check and I’m sure I wont ever do anything like this again. So thankyou = ] x.

To be safe, you should never mix alcohol with any meds. That’s how my full size car go turned into a compact. The tree however, didn’t seem to mind.

Answer #6

Yes, however if it is in your blood stream it still causes havoc with your liver… I wouldnt suggest combining the two, even if there is a short time span in between…

Answer #7

The dangers are you can kill yourself… Acetaminophen + alcohol is very toxic to the liver and can do a lot of damage.

Answer #8

If there was a mediocore span in between taking the painkillers and then going out and drinking, then I think you should be fine, as long as there is enough time in between. What could kill you is washing down a painkiller with alcohol. That is what has happened to many celebrities, past and present, that are now gone forever. =) Hope I helped

HELL YES! I know of people who have died doing just that. do not mess with that crap its not worth the high!

Let me tell you.Don’t do it, unless you want to feel sick and like an idiot. After halfing a bottle of vodka w a friend on a beach 2 days ago, i came home and got carried away w a box of anadin extra.Experimentation, you could say.Ended up taking 10, in between washing them down w 4 bottles of bacardi breezer. The combination of the pills and alcohol left me in an ecstatic state for a few hours, staggering about the house and leaving really stupid facebook comments eg ‘i feel like an early 90’s camera.with that characteristic bit of motuion blur. i am in love with myself right now.Tuesday at 2:28am’ Waking up, after falling asleep at 5am, I felt like a zombie.Anadin extras have doses of caffiene in them as well as parecetemol so after too much last night i was exhausted just waking up.I had a blinding headache, and had to take 2 more unrelated pills to stop the diorehea the painkillers gave me.It’s just after midnight on thursday morning, and i STILL FEEL TERRIBLE.HEADACHE.ACHES ALL OVER BODY.EXHAUSTION.STOMACH PAINS. DO NOT MIX PILLS AND DRINK.EVER.otherwise you’ll feel like me, which isn’t a pleasant place to be right now.
