Afghan hound questions.

My parents are thinking of getting an afghan hound. And I was wondering if you have any advice on takeing care of them or what to expect. Is it true that they really don’t get along with cats?

Aside from the above, be prepared for daily grooming…and lots of exercise. Because they are hounds, they need to be fenced…they are THAT driven to follow their instincts.

Answer #2

Afghan Hounds are sighthounds they are prey driven and many like to chase small animals or “prey”. However, if introduced to the cat an an early age the Afghan Hound can be taught to respect the cat and vise versa.

A wonderful option would be to adopt a rescue who has been evaluated for their temperment and compatibility with other pets. To find out more about the Afghan Hound visit our website [www.afghanhound911.com]
