Advice needed for cat after neuter

I took my cat to get neutered today. All he has done since I got him home is sleep. he hasnt ate or drank or used the litter box. Is all of this normal? I have never had a male cat before so I have no idea. I brought him home at 2pm this afternoon and it is now 10 at night. I am worried!

my cat acted the same way. I wouldnt worry too much unless this behavior continues after 3 or so days. at that point, I would call my vet. surgery tires animals out, and he is probably still drowsy from the anesthesia. my pug was just like that after she got spaid. = ]

Our former Tom’s are on the same wave path O.o. Mine went under the knife today as well, and the doctor advised us not to feed him because he will just regurgitate it back up (…we gave him a can, though; he was starving) and that he shouldn’t be running around for about 14 days because he needs his rest, so I definitely (assume) this is normal

This is normal, you cat should have had food withheld before the surgery then they get place under meds. After they wake up they go in a cage for recovery. Cat Neuters can go home the same day at the hospital I work at. So they will sleep around because of the drugs they had, they will not want to eat and they do not have to potty because they have no food in there system yet. So how does his scrotom look? if it is not red and swollen I would not worry, If it is red or swollen you need to call your vet. You can also take a cat’s temp with Lube and a digital them. You place it in the anus until it beeps, normal is 100.5 to 102.5. If he is higher then that, call you vet. Did they not give the the chance to take home Pain meds? We do and I think that is very important. Good luck
