ADVICE ABOUT LAW!!

I got a dui!.. I was stopped waiting for a car to go by and it was a cop.. he stopped in front of me.. made me get out of my car and didn’t even ever tell me why I was being pulled over. I ended up getting a dui only because I didn’t really have a choice and I had to drive about 6 blocks home on a dirt road.. had to cross a paved road and thats it.. is he allowed to pull me over for no reason whatsoever?

Answer #1

Sorry, but you’re skrewed. All the cop has to say is you were driving erratically and that’s why he pulled you over, and s/he will say that. The breathalyzer or BAC test is going to convict you. Get a good lawyer who specializes in dui’s.

Answer #2

he had a reason you were probably too drunk to realize why he stopped you and you shouldn’t have been driving anyways if it was only 6 blocks, you’re an idiot for driving drunk and you got what you deserve

Answer #3

so what if the officer comes up and just demands you to get out of the vehicle.. not asking for an id or anything?

Answer #4

how did you get a dui only because you didn’t have a choice? if you got a dui your the one that did something wrong, not the police.

Answer #5

Well thanks for those of you who actually had some type of advice.. and for those of you who just wanted to (have no compassion) thats fine with me I understand.. and walking would have taken a long time.. I live in the desert. desert blocks lol.. any wayz.. I will face court.. and I didn’t say the cops did something wrong.. I simply was asking if it was legal for them to pull me over for no reason.. thanks

Answer #6

You made the decision to drink and drive. illegal The officer made the decision to pull you over. legal

You deserve what you get. I have zero compassion for someone who drinks and then decides to drive. You could have stayed where you were. You could have asked a designated driver to take you home. You could have walked the 6 blocks.

Instead YOU made the decision to drive. And if you go to court with the attitude you have now, that the police did something wrong, you will have the book thrown at you and you would deserve it.

I had 2 beers at my buddies house… I blew a .084 barely over the limit. I hardley ever drink. I didn’t even have a buzz…which is why I figured it would be fine to go home. I did nothing wrong to get pulled over besides being the only car on the road. does anyone have any useful advice. all I would like to know is if a cop can pull you over just for being there.. and for you bler… I did nothing wrong.. my best friends were killed by a drunk driver.

Answer #8

man.. two beers over the course of an hour and a half isn’t drunk driving.. well in the eyes of the law it is apparantly… if I weighed 20 more lbs.. it wouldn’t of happend.. I would have blown probably a .04 or .05.. you totally got me marked wrong. I never break the law. and am seriously trying to get some decent information about this.. I passed all the sobriety tests with flying colors.. it was the breath test that got me canned.. even the other officer said he would have let me go… but the one in charge brought me in. but thanks for you remarks.. believe it or not I agree with how you feel

Answer #9

WOW

use whatever justification you need to get yourself through the day buddy. you did something wrong in the eyes of the law and juries aren’t forgiving to drunk drivers. your best friends were killed by a drunk driver and you still got behind the wheel after drinking? wow just wow

Answer #10

ok, first off in the course of an hour and a half you couldn’t have blown a .084. I’m sorry, it seems impossible to me. it’s far too long between beers, and beers only have about 3% alcohol if I’m not mistaken maybe 5% tops.. also, yes a cop can pull you over for any reason, he might just say it was a routine traffic stop, and that you seemed drunk so he breathalyzed you. in situations like that, you can refuse to take the breathalyzer, if you pass all of the exams they give you, you would have been released.

I got pulled over once for a routine traffic stop, but I did not do the breathalyzer because even if I blew under a .08 I am only 19 and I knew I’d be taken into custody. they gave me ALL sorts of tests, and I passed them all. Some of them were to stand on one foot with the other an inch off the ground, look up and point to my nose. Then to count to 30 and backwards. I passed them all, he said goodnight, and I was on my way home.
