Best advice you have given to another person?

Someone I’ve been emailing back and forth through here wants to be in a relationship with someone. I told them “If you don’t try yo be with them, you don’t deserve them”. I also told them to either “Piss or get off the pot”. That there is a small fraction of the best advice I’ve ever given.

When it came time that my ex moved out of the house and I cried about him leaving my brother calmed me down at 2am one late night. He said “can you live like this another 5 years”, meaning with my ex and our bad marriage. I said “no” and my life began to change from that moment I realised I depended on my ex tooo much. So I became more independent and went to counseling and picked myself back up. So my advise to others in a bad relationship is to ask yourself “can you live like this another 5 years?” It helps put things into perspective.
