Should I switch to Adderall for ADHD?

When I was about 1 years old I started walking I was about 1 1/2 when I could run around I was about 2 years old and I was able to open doors And even get out of my house to run and play I would even cross nearby major streets to go to Corner stores I guess I was overly active and capable of doing Things at way faster paces than most My mom took me to a Doctor and I was soon diagnosed with Adhd They gave me Ritalin for a while Then switched Adderall My mom kept me on till I was about 3 She then stoped giving me it because It made me WAY to calm and I seemed Out of it for what my mom says. It wasnt till about 5 grade when My attention span got bad Going into middle school was difficult and I was suprised to Have passed 6 & 7 grade Now that I’m in 8th grade I really dont think I will be as lucky Recently teacher have called my mom Telling her about how they see me trying hard But that I cant seem to pay attention without forgeting What I am looking at My mom since 6th grade has taken to to a Psychiatrist which I just talk to lately they prescribed me 20mg Focalin Xr And I really dont see any improvement I actually feel less alert and focused But definitely feel awake I have a teacher who knows about What I am taking and told me her son had The same thing And she said he was taking focalin as well But switched to adderall and that things went so much Better for her son I’m curious if I switch to adderall if it would be what I need Now I’m just taking it for about 3 weeks now
And so far things seem to be getting worse when I’m on it Then I go back to normal when it wares off how/what do I say to my dr About me switching from Focalin to Adderall after being on focalin for only 3 weeks seeing no progress?
