Some people find it awkward, your mom might have been it shock or embarassed. Its Normal and healthy. But if you really dont want her seeing you doing your thing ( who does?) Make sure no ones home,sleeping or that they just cant walk in..mabie the shower? If I were you I wouldnt talk to her about it, things could go worse.

You are not mentaly ill but it must have been a shock for your mom. She might not agree with what you are doing but it is complety normal. I think you should just avoid talking to her about it and next time, be sure to lock the door!
