A great summer read

Have you read any good books lately? I have just finished The best book it was orginaly printed in french. It called The Lover the author is margurite duras. The book was also made I Into a movie. The movie was a masterpeice. It made you really Leave the present and walk side by side the characters. And for A sweet moment you believed in love. A must read. Very emotional. I wish someone loved me like this

Ghettoheiress here, I am about to start this book called LOLITA by valdimere? I foget his last name right now. It was also a movie, I saw it so long ago… jeremey irons was in the movie. I like period peices perhaps a victorian love story. Or any other time period.

I’m about done with Naamah’s Kiss by Jaqueline Carey. Her two Kushiel series are very good too.

I read ‘The Lover’ myself in second year English at university as part of a special course on ‘The Decline of Empire’. The Stephen King recommendations by evil_ticktack were good, to which I would add ‘The Stand’, his masterpiece. If you’re intersted in the other books that I had to read with ‘The Lover’ on my course, they are as follows: 1.’Nostromo’ by Joseph Conrad

  1. ‘The Quiet American’ by Graham Greene
  2. ‘The Radetzky March’ by Joseph Roth

All three are masterpieces, wonderful reads.
