6 months still no job

lets say you have a friend who has gotten into trouble and is on probation. they say they have been looking for a job for 6 months, but still havent found one and keep blaming there criminal backround which isn’t good, but isnt horrible. would you believe that they are really looking for a job or think they are just slacking off and lying to you?

if you are really trying to find a job it should not take 6 months

if they were really my friend then I would believe that they were telling me it a job they were looking for and I wouldnt think they were lying or slacking off. finding a job is hard…
