3 X Single Coil Pickups?

I’m looking into buying a electric guitar very soon, but I dont know what 3 X Single Coil Pickups mean? can anyone explain what it means? im confused lol. I googled it but didnt quiet understand it. ( cause the guitar im looking at has it..)

single coil pickups are exactly as described single coil you’ll see 3 thin pickups under the strings the magnetic pickups allow the sound to be amplified… double coil pickups are two single coil right next to each other which sometimes gives a fatter sound..lets see, fender stratocaster usually has 3 single coil pickups gibson Les Paul usually have two double coil(I think dbl coil are also called humbukers) you can change the sound of the guitar by blending the pickups usually a 3x has 5 pickup switch positions allowing you to change the sound by using the different pickups brighter toward the bridge and heavier toward the neck…good luck
