How much does a 20 gallon gerbil tank normally cost?

Tank? We’ve always kept gerbils in cages … are you sure you need a tank? It will be a lot more pricey than a cage.

Prices can range anywhere from $27 – $80,depends on if you’re looking for a tank with a bunch of equipment with it or just a plain ol’ gerbil tank with a lid.I would suggest looking around in thrift or used stores too though,because I found a really nice 2 gallon terrarium for my pet turtles with all kinds of extras with it for only $5! Just if you do that you’ll have to disinfect it really well before you put the animals in in case of disease.:)

You can just use a fish tank, you can get a 10 gallon at wal-mart for around 20 bucks and then just make a wire top.

I just used a tank because its what i had and it works, but if you do get a cage remember this a rat can fit through a hole the size of a quarter a mouse can fit through a hole the size of a dime so make sure the cage bars are very close together and you want rubber coated because some cages don’t tell you but they can have harmful substances in the metal that may kill your pet.
