Was I cheated by my physical therapist?

I’ve been to physical or occupational therapy a few times in the past. I noticed that when I arrive the therapist was often still finishing up with their previous patient. I always figured no big deal since sometimes my session runs over into the next patients session as well. Last time I went my therapist was juggling 3 patients. He’d show me something then instruct me to do 3 sets of 10 or whatever then go check on the other 2 patients. Often I’d finish and end up waiting another 5 minutes for him to get back to me. Physical therapy isn’t cheap. Am I off base expecting to have my therapist’s undivided attention for most or all of my appointment? I kinda’ felt cheated this last session.

Answer #1

Let them know. With all the downsizing that goes on in business these days, it may not be what your therapist wants ether but is forced to deal with. The more people who complain, the more gets noticed by the powers that make those rules and guidelines.

Answer #2

Your feeling is reasonable….Your appointment time should be for YOUR appointment…..

Answer #3

You need to tell him how you feel. That should have been the time just for you. And he should be observing you instead of moving on to see how you are doing.

Answer #4

You deserve his attention. If your paying money to go to him and harpy getting a real session in its either time to talk to him or his supervisor, and id they say they cant help it ask your doctor to switch you. I really feel like you shouldn’t be paying to help other people….
