Do you guys think the word "baby" or "babe" should be reserved for couples only?

I call my male and female friends pet names like that but I cringe when my boyfriend does.

i believe so, b/c if you call a friend that, they may take it the wrong way, but i usually call everybody Hun, which isn’t as distinct as babe or baby all depends on personal preference.

the word babe annoys me :l but i dont think it should be reserved for ur to couples i mean i could be calling someone whining a baby

Growing up as the youngest, my family always called me “Baby boy” or “baby”. It seems like a nickname for maybe friends and family. Towards a couple I think sounds cuter to say baby than babe. Every now and then though I call my girlfriend babe when I need something.

when ever a guy casually uses a pet name on me (baby, babe, etc) i get really red lmfao i think it is totally fine to use casually but people react differently.

It depends, I can become rather uncomfortable when people address me as babe. It sounds sexual to me, and I don’t like it. My boyfriend doesn’t even call me babe, I’d prefer something more unique and thoughtful. I call my boyfriend Badongo, and he calls me Sweet.

It sends a signal not necessarily desired…could be ‘door opening’
