what's best for my pet rat?

ok i can not edit this question or add info to it so here it is… My aunt brought a new pet rat as her old one died due to a respiratory problem but the person in the pet shop said that sawdust caused the respiratory problem and that it is not good for them is this true?? if so what would b another option to use for bedding that is cheap and does not harm the pet??? thank you

Oh,now you are specific,sorry for before. Firstly the cage should be big,preferably with levels,your rat will love that as they love to climb.For bedding i would suggest either paper based or fabric based.You can simply find some comfy facric around the house or just cut a lot of paper strips also.Dont use wood chips or stuff like that,they are harmful.
