What is this crust when I take my earrings out?

I’ve had my ears pierced for over 10 years and whenever I take my studs out theres a yellow/white/cream crust/liquid on the studs that smells weird….what is it and how do I get rid of it?

Answer #1

It’s pus… :( I get that too sometimes, after my piercings have been infected.. Maybe you should try washing the piercings with rubbing alcohal or soaking them in salt water?

Answer #2

Hmm…y’know when you’re making salt water from fresh water + salt, how much salt should you add to how much parts water? xx

Answer #3

I would google it. Personally, I just drop a lot of salt in and stir it. I’m not one for measuring things…too much work >_> SORRY!

Answer #4

Never put peroxide or rubbing alcohol on a piercing, first of all. Im so sick of people giving advice on piercing aftercare when they don’t know what they’re talking about. The salt water thing she told you about I can clarify for you. Here it goes,

You want to use SEA salt NOT REGULAR table salt. You can get sea salt at the grocery store. I’m not sure of what the salt to water ratio is, but when you’re mixing it, don’t make it too strong. Stronger is not always better. The mixture shouldn’t taste any stronger than tears. If you need anymore help with anything piercing related, drop me a line. I love getting funmail.

-_- Fine then. I’m just telling her what the peircing place told me. D: And GAAAAAH I’m a guy! GUY! GUY! GUUUY!

Answer #6

_> lol, tis all good. I don’t mind much :3

Answer #9

Try 1/2 salt and 1/2 water, and Epsom salt is the best to use when it comes to cleaning piercings :)

Answer #10

Also, if your not sure about salt water they make piercing cleaning stuff that I’m pretty sure you can get at the grocery store. It doesn’t burn or anything but it kept my ear piercings and snakebites clean for the time i had them.
