Will I gain or lose?
So I decided to stop smoking and im scared that I might gain weight because I am already trying to lose 20 pounds by january or february. I am 5foot8inches I weight 145pds(I know im kinda fat) I eat very healthy meaning almost no chips or pop or candy maybe like once every 2 days and its not that much, just to lose the craving. I havent had a huge appetite like I usually do and I run 3 days a week, lift weights 2 days a week and im trying to fit in some pilates. Can someone let me know how much weight I will gain or lose? And how to help myself lose it.
remember if you were smoking instead of eating then you may initially gain weight but it will drop off after a while, if not then talk to someone with the same experience :)

How exactly are you fat? Your BMI range is right in the middle of optimal… However, 20 pounds isnt the end of the world (you really shouldnt aim for more though, you’re already pushing the low end of the optimal range with 125). Your work out routine sounds good, you should start to see results soon…

You’ve told us what you DON’T eat… but excluding those foods from your diet doesn’t necessarily mean your diet is ‘healthy’ …so what DO you eat?
A lot of people gain weight when they quit smoking because they use food as a substitute for cigarettes. As long as you follow what you are doing now you won’t gain weight.

dont worry you will do fine.. you sound just liek me..except I dont smoke. you will lose a couple of pounds, get in good shape and look great! I say its totally worth it.. quit the smoking like waffleha said.. completly true.
you can go run or jog..do some cardio.. eat salads..protein shakes.. do aerobics..pilates is great.. its hard at first..but I’ve been doin it for 2 years and its done me reall good!
