Panic Attack and Anxiety - At School

Why can’t I handle school? Does it have something to do because I’m bipolar and have anxiety? Its been getting worse over the years.

At school and can’t handle all the people, I have panic attacks, the lighting gives me horrible head aches/MIGRAINES, I cant concentrate at all no matter how hard I try. If I wake up feeling just a tad sick when I reach school it gets ten times worse. On weekends Im ok untill sunday and Im automatically depressed again. Basically it’s the panic attacks that are getting me.

Everyone tells me I’m mature for my age and very strong but I can’t even handle school. People make it look so easy and Im ashamed of myself. Funny thing is work doesn’t bother me a bit. My job doesn’t seem to have that affect on me.

Is there a certain reason to why this is? School triggers my panic attacks and its rough on me. (I’m on meds so no need to tell me I need them xP)

Since school is close to starting up soon I’m getting frustrated and very stressed.

I feel pathetic right now haha. I’m sorry xP

What should I do?

the good news is; with a little luck you’ll out grow the migraines in time.I suffered with them from 13-16 (the worst), but they diminished a little more each year after I reached

  1. avoid drugs and alcohol, real bright lights and loud music. they can trigger anxiety attacks as well as blinding migraines. if you feel a headache coming on, you can catch it in time by sipping a black cup of coffee.caffeine dilates the blood vessel in the forehead and allows for blood flow. ask your teacher’s for permission to wear sunglasses in class-(not too dark)

Try making a list of all the good things that could happen when you return to school- making friends, dances, interesting teachers, clubs, a chance to overcome your fears. be sure and pick a good guidance counselor who can give you good advice regarding the anxiety and how you react to your school environment. ask for independent study for credits.

bipolar disorder affects millions, but it’s possible with the meds you’re taking and talk therapy, to live a wonderful life with relative ease. look at it as an opportunity to discover your hidden talents and grow as an emotionally secure adult.

talk to your doctor about these attacks and make sure you are on medication for it. involve family and friends in your plans. just taking weight off your shoulders to be all things to all people will remove a lot of the pressure you’re experiencing.

are your parents, teachers or maybe yourself putting you or yourself under to much pressure to get good grades at school, maybe at your job you don’t feel under that much pressure so you enjoy it more and don’t worry and have panic attacks, all I can say is try and relax more at school don’t stress yourself out, which is easy said then done! but good luck to you!
