what kind of lotion or medicine can help my moms hand?

I seriously doubt the doctors are “torturing” her. Your mother obviously has an affliction that is difficult to treat. The doctors will know better than any of us how to deal with it, and if she doesn’t think they are doing enough, she has the right to a second opinion from another doctor. We don’t even know what it is your mother has - any advice we offer can actually do more harm than good.

lol i ment her hands are torturing her..

her hands been tragically ill since 2006 and all the doctor does is recommend the same medicine for her since 2006, nothing seem to help:( her hands turn red, they itch her, she has cuts, and her hand is hard as a cactus..she cries sometime from them? there torturing her badly..what should i do for her?

Have u had her go to a dermatologist?

no? should i make her an appointment? she had just a primary doctor..

has she tried like skin lotions baby lotion,cocoa butter, i had an irritated skin and i used arnica gel :)

Well I do know dermatologist specialize in skin so I do believe they would help, if nothing else I think they would refer u to someone who cud help if they cudnt, I’m sorry she is in so much pain I feel bad for her, she must be miserable, but yes call a dermatologist and see what they say, and good luck to you both

can you be more specific about the symptoms? Does she have open sores? Is it camstamt or periodic? do they swell up? is the skin hard?

Eucerin is amazing for dry skin. However, since we don’t know what’s causing the dry skin I am hesitant to suggest it. Get a dermatologist to check. And I am aware how painful it is when the skin is hard and starts to form cracks. It is difficult to do anything. My sympathies are with her.

Is she a diabetic? Have any liver problems? Eye problems? Sounds like an auto-immune disorder

Baby lotion is great but my favorite is Vaseline brands, hand lotion. Ahhhh it works so good on my hands during the winter! I use it on my legs too

yeah she tried all those lotions..shes willing to try anything that will help her..

I think you need to see another dermatologist, or doctor. My mother has a similar problem, although it isn’t as severe as your mother’s issue sounds, it still sounds like it may be the same thing.

My mother went to the doctor, and they gave her some sort of prescription hand cream. It helped her, so it may work on your mother’s hands as well. I don’t know what it is called, but I am sure if you went to the dermatologist or doctor, they would prescribe you the same thing… or something similar.

My mother also uses Eucerin for her hands, it works on hers.
