I have been concerned that my friends daughter is taking Yaz birth control pills for reasons other than Acne. She has convinced her Mom that she was advised to use the product Yaz for Acne. Can someone advise?
well im not sexually active but I can tell you this I believe that an ingredient found in yaz (im sure its like or similar to an hormone I believe) can some how manipulate your hormone prodution thus preventing pregnancies and so forth.Anything that messes with and or controls your hormonal balance may also tamper with other hormonal controled bodily growth and productions.in not so many words it can help slow down or minimize your acne in a way do to the ingredient that tampers with your hormones.The same one that makes your period stop for some months. lol its no way for me to simplify it any lower heehee hopes this helps you^_^
I actually got prescribed Yaz for my acne and yes they do prescribe it for acne, I got it in september because my mom wanted me to for my acne. plus she said that she cant be watching me 24/7 and since I have a boyfriend she thinks im gonna have sex with him even though she doesnt approve of it which im not going to anyways.im 15 as far as im concerned I dont have bad acne but I take mine everyday at the same time and my face is better but not flawless.
No they would not give it to her SOLELY for acne. It is a combined contracpetive pill aimed at acne AND preventing pregnancy. never given for just one of those points. I think this girl needs to start being truthfull or she may loose her mothers trust.
Actually in some cases they do give Yaz solely for acne (usually when the person has light acne).
